Prince William plans to participate in the COP30 climate summit in Brazil during November, as announced by palace sources.

Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a gathering ahead of the climate summit, which is planned for in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.

Father and son were present at the Natural History Museum reception, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a pre-COP30 gathering arranged together with the UK government.

Environmental Advocacy Dedication

The King has been a consistent supporter of environmental conservation - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be hosted in Rio before the COP summit.

Official representatives have described William's involvement at the next COP as stepping up an significant responsibility in "global climate discussions".

Recent Engagements

The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the royal vehicle, were greeted attendees such as environmentalists, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and politicians.

This involvement included speaking together with French leader Macron of the French Republic and other world leaders at the Ocean Finance Summit in Monaco earlier this year.

Environmental Prize Connection

The climate conference will dovetail with the prince's own Earthshot environmental awards, which will conclude in Rio de Janeiro the day before he attends the COP summit on the sixth of November.

The King has been a key figure at previous climate summits, giving the opening address in Dubai for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the reminder: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".
